Today I’ve been reminded of a familiar spiritual life cycle event. We christians have a tendency to be like those who have gone before us. The scripture reminds us of what brings God’s blessings and what causes His resistance. In 2nd Chronicles is the story of the 16 year old King of Judah – Uzziah. The scripture says “and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper” 2 Chron 26:5. In time, Uzziah grew militarily, monetarily, and in fame. What happened next should strike us as a cautionary tale: “But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction” 2 Chron 26:16. R. C. Sproul said seeking God involves the following: “An attitude of loyal devotion that desires to enjoy God’s favor and fellowship”.
Dear Ford River family, continue to seek His face no matter what comes to you from His hands!!!
